A NOTE FROM RONITH

Hi friends,

This week at BlueGene Partners is one of those weeks that reminds me why I built this practice. Two clients I believe in deeply — Hansa Biopharma and Liquidia — have live searches that sit right at the center of rare-disease commercialization: getting product to patients through the right channel, and putting the right specialty account leaders in front of the right physicians.

And then yesterday happened. A client invited me to join him and about ten others from life sciences and tech for a beautiful day on the Chesapeake aboard his boat. We talked business, yes — but mostly we just had great conversations with current friends and new ones. That is the work too: relationships first, opportunities second. Photos below.

If you are in trade/distribution, specialty sales, PAH, transplant, nephrology, or rare-disease commercial leadership — or you know someone who is — message me directly. Do not apply through company portals for these BlueGene searches. Come through me.

Grab your coffee. I'm leading with BlueGene, then a few industry notes worth your time.

Referrals are deeply appreciated — and always treated with care and confidentiality.

1) Director, US Trade and Distribution — Hansa Biopharma (New York, hybrid)

Hansa is a commercial-stage rare-disease biotech pioneering IgG-cleaving enzyme technology for acute and complex immune disorders, including autoimmune disease, gene therapy, and transplantation. This Director will build and run Hansa's US trade and distribution engine — channel strategy, specialty distributors and 3PLs, gross-to-net and chargebacks, forecasting and inventory, DSCSA/compliance, and the cross-functional glue between Supply Chain, Finance, Market Access, and Commercial.

Who thrives here: 10+ years of US pharmaceutical supply and distribution experience, ideally with a US product launch. Hospital, transplant, nephrology, orphan, and smaller international biotech backgrounds stand out. NYC commuting distance required (hybrid).

If this is you — or someone on your team — message me. I am actively supporting Hansa on this search and will guide the process personally.

2) Territory Account Manager — NYC & Long Island — Liquidia (Yutrepia / PAH launch)

Liquidia has been a BlueGene client for several years, and I am proud to keep supporting their commercial build. This Territory Account Manager covers New York City and Long Island in support of Yutrepia and Liquidia's rare cardiopulmonary mission in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and related PH.

Who thrives here: 3+ years pharmaceutical sales (specialty/rare disease preferred), strong cardiology or pulmonology relationships, launch experience, and a proven track record with high-value / orphan products. You will own territory planning, HCP engagement, disease-state and product education, and access/reimbursement support — with the entrepreneurial energy a growing rare-disease commercial team needs.

If you know a high-performing specialty rep or account manager in the NYC / Long Island corridor who wants a rare-disease PAH launch, send them to me — not to a job board.

FROM THE WATER — CHESAPEAKE DAY

[

Yesterday (Thursday), I spent the day on the Chesapeake with a client and a small group of about ten people across life sciences and tech. His boat, blue water, good food, and better conversation. Some of us have known each other for years. Some of us met for the first time on the dock. We talked business when it made sense — and we also just enjoyed being present with interesting people who care about this industry.

That is BlueGene at its best: connecting people in rooms (and on boats) where trust can grow before a role ever opens. Some of the best introductions I have ever made started exactly like this — no agenda, just good people in the same place at the same time.

Huge thank you to my client and host for opening his boat and his circle. If you ever want an introduction into this kind of circle — or want to host the next one — you know where to find me.

INDUSTRY PULSE (quick hits)

August is a high-stakes FDA month for rare disease. Capricor faces an August 22 decision on Deramiocel for Duchenne cardiomyopathy after a mixed advisory-committee vote; Ultragenyx has an August 23 PDUFA for DTX401 gene therapy in GSDIa.

On the science side, University of Basel researchers reported that blood GFAP can help track hidden MS progression (including progression independent of relapse activity) — a meaningful signal for the MS community I am part of.

PATIENT & ADVOCACY WATCH

Rare disease advocates continue to push back on new Medicaid work requirements set to roll out more broadly in 2027. NORD and partners warn that vague “medically frail” exemptions could put coverage at risk for patients, caregivers, and people in clinical trials.

THE TALENT ANGLE

My read from the desk this week: the market is not frozen — it is selective. The roles winning attention right now are launch-critical and specific: trade and distribution builders, specialty TAMs with real therapeutic relationships, and advocacy leaders who have stood up a function before. If your resume has a first-of-its-kind moment (first US launch, first channel build, first PAH territory turnaround), lead with it — and bring it to me.

WHAT I'M GRATEFUL FOR

Grateful for clients who trust BlueGene with the hard seats — and for the client who opened his boat and his circle yesterday so a group of us could remember that business is still a human sport. Grateful for every connector in this community who makes an introduction because they care about the fit, not the transaction.

If Hansa Trade & Distribution or Liquidia NYC/Long Island is relevant to you or someone you know, please do not sit on it. Message me.

Warmly,
Ronith
